This privacy notice provides information around how your personal data (or "data") is processed via all InnovatorsRoom related company activities, which are below referred to as "we", "us" and "services". 


We will keep this notice updated as required by relevant data protection laws and to ensure you are appropriately informed around any changes. The current version of the notice was updated last on April 1, 2022.


Data we collect about you


The data we collect about you varies depending on the services you sign-up to and the data you provide to us, but can include the below:

  • Basic data: Name, gender, location, consent preferences
  • Contact data: Emails address(es)
  • Professionally relevant data: Current and previous company / job / project affiliations, notable professional achievements, years of experience, business social media profile and links + publicly-available data (via LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), references, education history, job interests, networking preferences


We ensure to only collect the minimum required information relevant to the services you are interested in and sign up for.


How your data is collected


Your data is collected from you directly via the data you provide to us, namely via the InnovatorsRoom slack community, TechJobs newsletter, and job submission and recruitment collaboration services. Publicly available data (from social media sites, namely) may also be indirectly collected (where possible under legitimate interests).


How your data is used


We utilize your data with privacy in mind and only for the purposes laid out in this notice, such as:

  • Slack community sign-up and usage
  • TechJobs newsletter sign-up and collaboration on recruitment services
  • Making professionally-related recommendations and suggestions, networking connections, and offering to share business details to relevant social media and internal networks (all only with permission)


The legal bases (the legally valid reasons we rely on) we utilize to process your personal data is our legitimate interests for most activities, as these are within general expectations given the relationship we have with you, wholly optional with limited mandatory data collection, and are available to opt-out of completely (for example, account sign-up and allowing you to utilize Slack services). We also utilize consent for activities where we ensure to obtain your clear and prior opt-in prior (for example: email marketing preferences, social media postings). For job and recruitment activities, we may process your data as needed for the performance of a contract. If required, we also may be required by regulatory bodies to process your data according to legal obligations, however this is not to be expected.


Third-Parties, Data Transfers and Security + Retention


Your data may be processed by third-parties who are utilized in ensuring we can fulfill the services listed in this notice. Such third-parties are limited to services such as: IT and cloud service providers, mail services, and virtual collaboration and communications.


Your data also may be transferred to US-based service providers for these purposes. When we utilize providers from outside of the European Union, we ensure to only work with providers with appropriate security compliance programs and with appropriate contractual terms to enable legally compliant transfers.


We take security seriously and ensure your data is carefully protected and managed in a secure fashion, with limited access on a need-to-know basis only, and only used to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. We also only keep your data as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for.


Your Rights


You may have certain rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data. These may include:

  • Obtaining a copy of (in an appropriate and common format) your personal data
  • Updating, correcting, or deleting your personal data
  • Requesting that your personal data is kept, but not processed any further (restriction of processing)
  • Objecting to or withdrawing consent (where consent has been given) around the processing of your personal data. Note: if you withdraw consent, this may not affect processing performed prior to your opting-out
  • Communicating any privacy related complaint to us, or to your relevant country's data protection authority

We do not intentionally collect data on or from individuals under 18 or otherwise incapable of providing legal and valid consent. We do not sell information as is defined in the California Consumer Protection Act (“CCPA”).
